Smiths W10 Military dated 1969

Made in England for the British military, the Smiths W10s are excellent vintage watches that have become increasingly sought after over the last few years. A great example of the model, this watch is still fitted with an original military strap made for the Smiths W10 lug gauge. The black dial has contrasting white Arabic numerals with luminescent accents above.

A handsome example of the Chronostop model, this Omega has a matt grey dial which is in lovely condition. The luminescent dots above the numerals have an attractive, warm tone with perfect colour match to the luminescent panels within the hands. The stainless steel case retains good definition and has an Omega signed crystal and crown. We have had a bespoke tapered wild boar leather strap made for the watch which is fitted with the original, fully adjustable long steel Omega deployant clasp.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Cal. P480 circa 1959

A lovely late 1950s Jaeger-LeCoultre, this wristwatch has brightly polished applied hour indexes and handsome dauphine hands. The slim two-part case has a  screw-down back and gently downturned lugs.  Manually wound, this watch is powered by Jaeger-LeCoultre’s calibre 480 movement which is beautifully finished with decoratively damascened bridges.

Omega Cal. 283 hallmarked 1952-53

This wonderfully charismatic 9ct yellow gold vintage Omega has a beautiful two-tone dial – the main dial body has a silk-matt silvered finish and contrasts with chapter ring for minutes/seconds which is calibrated in a higher satin sheen. The hours are composed of gold foiled Arabic numerals at the quarters with raised triangular indexes at the intervening hours. The watch is accompanied by a vintage easel-form Omega presentation case.

Longines Conquest Ref. 1556 circa 1975

Longines Conquest Ref. 1556 circa 1975 ‘Full Set’

In excellent original condition, this super sharp gold plated Longines Conquest Ref. 1556 dates to the mid-1970s. The watch is complete with its original Longines strap and buckle, presentation case and guarantee booklet which notes the original date of sale as 1 May 1976. A really well proportioned watch, this model has an especially well balanced design, from the length of the hour indexes and minute markers to the height, width and curve of the case sides. A sense of utility and clarity are re-enforced by the Longines calibre 6942 movement which has an unusual hack feature – when the crown is pulled out to the hand-setting position, the seconds hand will stop when it reaches the 12 o’clock position, the user can then push the crown back in upon a time signal, or when synchronising to another timepiece, and the seconds hand will start immediately.

Seiko World Time Desk Clock

Seiko World Time Ref. QZ 885A circa 1990

This stylish desk clock was designed and made by Seiko in circa 1990. The clock has a gilt-brass case with smoked glass to the front, there are polished brass feet and 4 corresponding brass details to the top of the clock. 42 world locations are marked to the gilded bezel, these represent the different time zones. There are two adjusting knobs to the back of the clock – one for adjusting the time, the other to rotate the ‘cities’ disc. To set the clock to a specific time zone, simply turn the gilded disc until the desired city is shown at the 12 o’clock position. The time should then be set. When setting the time, the hands and the 24-hour ring move in tandem, the time should therefore be checked against the 24-hour ring to ensure that the correct hour am/pm is shown. The jet plane to the tip of the centre seconds continually sweeps around the dial.
