Richard Guyatt (1914-2007) was a graphic designer whose talents were employed by companies including the Royal Mint, Royal Mail and WH Smith.
He also worked as a designer for Wedgwood over a huge span of years, creating deisgns for thei commemorative wears. His designs elevated the (whisper it) somewhat tacky world of royal souvenirs with a design language that marked them out as being throughly thought through and thus having longevity.
As well as Royal souvenir wares for the company he designed decorative schemes for objects that marked the anniversaries of Wedgwood, the American bicentennial in 1976 and more. As ad when I find more examples of his work, images will be added here.
