Vintage Lead Polar Bears

Some of these toy lead polar bears look deadly serious whereas others (through the application of pink enamel paint to mark their mouths) look borderline comical.

Made by a company such as Britains or John Hill & Co at some time between the 1930s and 1950s these were intended at the time of manufacture to be toys but now can be safely used for creating characterful scenes. The scale of the bears can come into play when used this way.

They have been played with in the past hence the paint loss to some of them.
