Steel Tudor / Rolex Oyster Royal Ref. 7903 vintage wristwatch, circa 1963
A stainless steel manually wound centre seconds vintage wristwatch with steel sprung Rolex Oyster bracelet
An attractive mid-sized Tudor model, this wristwatch has a robust stainless steel Rolex Oyster case and a lovely, satin finished, Rolex Oyster bracelet with sprung links. The bracelet is date stamped for 1963 and is in great condition with the links and clasp remaining tight and retaining excellent definition.
The handsome silvered dial has an unusual combination of fonts with the legends: brand, model and ‘shock resisting’ all in differing yet complimentary styles. The applied numerals have pronounced dagger shaped numerals at the quarters and pointed batons at the intervening hours. There is light and even oxidation across the surface of the dial. An original catalogue illustration of the Tudor Oyster Ref. 7903 is reproduced in: Isnardi, A., Tudor Anthology, Isnardi Editore, 2013, p.248.
