Steel Tudor Oyster Prince Ref. 7965 vintage wristwatch, dated 1959
A stainless steel automatic centre seconds wristwatch
Dating to 1959, this Tudor wristwatch has a classic silvered dial with applied gold coloured arrow head indexes at the quarters and baton numerals at the intervening hours. The robust stainless steel Rolex Oyster case has a polished chamfered bezel and typical screw-down crown and case back. Dating to 1959, this is one of the first Tudor models to feature the engraved detailing to the outside case back reading: “Original Oyster Case by Rolex Geneva”, prior to this period, the outside case backs were plain.

Tudor calibre 2461 automatic movement, lever escapement, 25 jewels, mono-metallic compensation balance, 18,000 BPH, Kif shock absorber; silvered dial, applied gold coloured arrow head and baton numerals with luminescent dots above, luminescent Alpha shaped hands (please note that luminescence will have naturally dulled with age), centre seconds; polished stainless steel Rolex Oyster case, chamfered bezel, the tops of the lugs and centre of the case back with satin finish, screw-down Rolex crown and case back; case, dial, movement and crown signed.
