Voysey’s Birds and Animals – Karen Livingstone
This book is published by Thames and Hudson in collaboration with V&A. Karen Livingstone is a former curator at the V&A.
Charles Voysey was a designer and architect who died in 1941. His designs have undergone a recent reappraisal with the renewed interest in his work generated by companies such as St Judes and Common Room.
Many of his most influential wallpaper designs feature birds and animals as do his furniture and metalwork designs. This book presents many of these pieces and explores his brilliance at using this subject matter in his repeat patterns.
