It tells the story of Pascaline, an indeterminate creature with some of the features of a mouse but also a creature with the ability to shapeshift into something resembliung a slug. Early in the story Pascaline has a tantrum in a forest supermarket because her mother won’t let her have everything that she wants but by the end of the story Pascaline has decided that something that she can’t buy (ort have bought for her) is the best thing ever.
