Description
Shell Planter Verde
This planter or vase by Terrace and Garden reminds me of the mid-century ceramics made in the UK by companies such as Sylvac.
The green colour of this piece is similar to the tone of glaze used by Sylvac on their hyacinth range.
This piece is more solid than those ceramics and has a thicker body. It could therefore easily be used as a planter for houseplants but will need some care to avoid overwatering as it has no drainage holes. If you were using it as a vase you could use it in conjunction with the long kenzan from Niwaki.
The glaze is applied thickly so has distinctive individual marks on it from one piece to another where the glaze has bubbled, this adds to the character of the piece.
