A lady’s platinum and diamond-set cocktail watch
A very pretty diamond-set cocktail watch with bundles of charm and character, this watch dates to circa 1940. These cocktail watches were often, as in this instance, unsigned, although occasionally the dials would carry the name of a retailer. The case is set with round and baguette-cut diamonds which, together with the fancy-form lugs, form an impressive overall design. The watch is accompanied by a modern jeweller’s presentation box.
[M] calibre 525 Swiss movement, 15 jewels, compensation balance [D] silvered dial, black Arabic numerals, blued steel hands, circular platinum case, the bezel set with 20 round-cut diamonds, the lugs set with a further 34 round-cut and 12 baguette-cut diamonds [S] movement signed [B] the rope-twist strap with 9ct white gold clasp
