Seiko World Time Ref. QZ 885A
This stylish desk clock was designed and made by Seiko in circa 1990. The clock has a gilt-brass case with smoked glass to the front, there are polished brass feet and 4 corresponding brass details to the top of the clock. 42 world locations are marked to the gilded bezel, these represent the different time zones. There are two adjusting knobs to the back of the clock – one for adjusting the time, the other to rotate the ‘cities’ disc. To set the clock to a specific time zone, simply turn the gilded disc until the desired city is shown at the 12 o’clock position. The time should then be set. When setting the time, the hands and the 24-hour ring move in tandem, the time should therefore be checked against the 24-hour ring to ensure that the correct hour am/pm is shown. The jet plane to the tip of the centre seconds continually sweeps around the dial.
