Description
Steel Rolex Oyster Precision Ref. 6426 vintage wristwatch, circa 1982
A stainless steel manually wound centre seconds wristwatch
Dating to circa 1982, this is a relatively late example of the classic 6426 reference. The watch is in lovely condition with a silvered satin finished dial and steel Oyster case with smooth bezel. The watch is fitted with a thick gauge Rolex Oyster bracelet which, like the case, retains excellent definition. Manually wound, the watch is powered by a Rolex calibre 1220 which has a higher 21,600 beat than the first series of the Ref. 6426, which was equipped with a calibre 1210 and a more traditional 18,000 A/h. The higher beat was introduced to further improve the model’s accuracy.
As part of this watch’s service and overhaul, it has been pressure tested for water-resistance up to 100m.
