A fine 14ct gold automatic centre seconds wristwatch 

This gold Air-King is in great condition with a lovely silvered, satin finished dial and classic applied numerals. The watch has a Rolex calibre 1520 movement that will keep itself automatically wound when in daily use. It is possible to determine that this watch was specifically supplied by Rolex to the UK market. The watch has Swiss hallmarks for 14ct gold and the usual Rolex Geneva signatures, however, it has the case number in the centre of the case back (in addition to its usual positioning between the lugs), this was standard practice for gold Rolex watches imported into the UK during this period and was presumably to ensure that case backs did not become separated from their case tops during the hallmarking process.

Rolex calibre 1520 automatic movement, lever escapement, 26 jewels, mono-metallic balance; silvered dial applied baton numerals, centre seconds, outer minute track; 14ct gold Rolex Oyster case with screw-down crown and case back, polished chamfered bezel and case sides, the tops of the lugs and centre of the back with satin finish; case, dial, movement and crown signed.
