A classic ‘everyday’ wristwatch, the Air-King Ref.5700 was introduced by Rolex in the 1960s. Similar in design to the Ref.5500 Air-King, the 5700 features a date aperture and a slightly larger case. The precision movement is an automatically wound Rolex calibre 1520 with 26 jewels and hack feature; the hack feature allows the seconds hand to be stopped when the crown is pulled out to the hand-setting position, thereby allowing easy synchronisation to a time signal.

This watch is accompanied by a Rolex folder containing the Rolex numbered guarantee paper and original receipt which both detail the watch’s purchase at Fattorini’s, Harrogate, in 1988. The watch also retains its original green leather and wood Rolex presentation case and outer card box.

As part of this watch’s service and overhaul it has been pressure tested for water-resistance up to 100 metres.
