Description
Railway Building – Terraced Houses
This model railway building would have been sold originally in a kit form and the original purchaser (or recipient) would then have put and glued together the sections to create the structure.
While these were sold as the preserve of the model railway enthusiast they are as interesting to those of us interested in architecture and miniaturisation. This structure, as with the other pieces that we have, is made from cardboard, but additionally has been adorned with a plastic fence enclosing the back gardens and some modellers plants within those gardens.
The terrace has a plaque to the middle of the front which gives the construction date as 1921. I like that the front doors have all bveen given individual colours. The house with the mustard coloured door appears to have suffered a break in at the rear as it is missing the window panes from the 1st floor!
