Dancing in the Light of the Moon – Gyles Brandreth
The subtitle to Brandreth’s book reads ‘How poetry can transform your memory and change your life’. As someone who certainly has a blank with recounting or remembering any poetry this might be something I should look at properly.
There always seems something showing off-y about people who can recall poetry line by line, stanza by stanza, but which is equally impressive at the same time. Even if you don’t remember any of the poems that are in this book they are an interesting selection across a wide variety of styles and ages and among the tips for helping you to memorise any of the poems is “sleep on it”.
