Patek Philippe Ref. 2433R pink gold vintage wristwatch, made in 1952

A very rare and fine 18ct pink gold square wristwatch with pink dial, Patek Philippe strap and Extract from the Archives

Reference 2433 is a rare Patek Philippe model, indeed, when this very watch was offered through Antiquorum in Geneva in March 2008, the catalogue  noted that it was the first example of a Ref. 2433 to have passed through their auction rooms since 1990.

The superb pink dial is in excellent original condition with a wonderful lustre that perfectly compliments the rich tone of the pink gold case, lending the watch a striking monochrome appearance. To match the dial, the hands and applied numerals are all made from pink gold and the enamel printed text and tracks are bold and clear. The 18ct pink gold case remains in great condition with crisp definition to its angles and edges – the Swiss hallmarking to the right hand case side is remarkably sharp, further demonstrating the case’s excellent state of preservation.

Patek Philippe first introduced reference 2433 in 1948 and the present example was made in 1952. The scarcity of examples would suggest that it is likely that production did not continue much beyond the date of the present watch.

This watch is fitted with a new Patek Philippe alligator strap, there are gold spring bars and the strap’s pin buckle is unsigned and pink gold plated.
