Mary Fedden – Robin

This card features the artwork of Mary Fedden, a depiction of a robin seemingly painted on a scrap of rough manila coloured paper.

Mary Fedden was born in Bristol in 1915 and even as a child she wanted to be a painter. She studied at the Slade School of Art and after serving abroad as a designer in the final years of the Second World War she resumed her career as a painter. In 1951 she married the painter Julian Trevelyan.
