Omega Seamaster Ref. 166.032 steel vintage wristwatch, sold in 1970

A large stainless steel automatic centre seconds wristwatch with day & date indication, Omega bracelet and original box and papers

Ref. 166.032 is a large model for the period of production with a case diameter of 36.5mm. This version of the model has an unusual, stippled, silvery/grey dial and, to its edge, the track for minutes/seconds is steeply chamfered, thereby creating a two-tone appearance to the surface. There are gold baton indexes with finely ribbed surfaces and blackened inserts to their centres. The large stainless steel case has a sunburst, satin finished, bezel and the upper case is also satin finished but with bright, polished chamfers to the edges of the lugs. Automatically wound, the watch is powered by an Omega calibre 752 movement with 24 jewels and there is provision for fast date change via the crown’s second setting.

An excellent example of the model, this watch is accompanied by the original, numbered, Omega guarantee booklet which notes that this watch was originally sold at J. W. Benson in March 1970. The watch also retains the original red Omega presentation box (hinge loose) and outer card case as well as the red Omega plastic folder containing special ‘Day/Date’ adjustment instructions and ‘You and Your Omega’ booklet.
