Description
Omega Seamaster de Ville Ref. 166.020 sold in 1964 ‘Full Set’ | Steel
A stainless steel automatic centre seconds vintage wristwatch with bracelet
Omega first introduced reference 166.020 in 1962. The dual branding of the model as both ‘Seamaster’ and ‘De Ville’ highlighted its versatile appeal—combining the sporty characteristics synonymous with the Seamaster line with the refined, dress-style elegance that defined the newly introduced De Ville range. This particular example features a distinctive linen-textured dial with applied baton hour indexes. It is a non-luminous version, and as such, there are no luminescent accents above the numerals or luminous infill on the hands. The spotting visible in the photographs is barely perceptible with the watch in hand.
Powered by the self-winding calibre 562, the movement includes a semi-quick date-change mechanism. By moving the hands backwards and forwards between 9pm and 1am the date can be advanced manually.
The watch is accompanied by its original Omega model 1037 link bracelet and retains its set of accessories, including the original red Omega presentation case, card outer box, numbered guarantee booklet, and bill of sale from J. W. Benson Ltd., London, dated 8 October 1964.
