A stainless steel automatic centre seconds wristwatch with date
Reference 2849 was advertised within Omega’s International Collection between 1956 and 1962. This version of the model has an attractive, creamy, silvered dial with bold applied gold coloured numerals. The numerals at 12, 6 and 9 o’clock are centrally set with luminescent panels, the intervening numerals have luminescent dots above. As the date aperture is in the position of the numeral at 3 o’clock, a luminescent dot is applied directly to the dial beside the aperture. The robust stainless steel case has a polished chamfered bezel and down-turned lugs with satin finished sides. The snap-on case back is centred with the Omega Seamaster emblem. Powered by an Omega calibre 503 automatic movement with 20 jewels, the date function has semi-fast date adjustment by moving the hands backwards and forwards between 10pm and 1am.
