Omega Ref. 920 gold vintage wristwatch, hallmarked 1947

A 9ct yellow gold manually wound wristwatch with two-tone dial

An early example of the Ref. 920, this watch comes directly from the original owner’s family. The silvered two-tone dial is in excellent condition with slim raised Arabic numerals and a ‘rail track’ style minute ring which has a distinctive, higher sheen finish that contrasts with the silk matt surface of the main dial body. There are light scuffs and scratches to the gold case, the winding crown is a replacement.

Omega’s Ref. 920 is an archetypal vintage wristwatch model with a brilliantly proportioned case featuring a polished chamfered bezel, gently down-turned lugs and flat, snap-on back. The model was available with a variety of different dial designs and the gold case was made for Omega by the English based Dennison case company. Early examples of the model, such as this, are not pierced to the outside of their lugs giving the profile view an unbroken sweep.

Manually wound, the watch is powered by the Omega calibre 30.T2 PC one of the earliest examples of the famous and highly successful 30 series.
