Steel Omega Ref. 2165 vintage wristwatch, circa 1943
A steel mid-size manually wound wristwatch
Reference 2165 was introduced by Omega in 1943 and the serial number of the present example dates it to the early period of the model’s production. This watch comes directly from the original owner’s family. Mid-sized, this model has a two-piece case with solid upper body, moulded bezel and a screw-down back. The down-turned lugs have attractive, faceted, flared upper edges. The silvered dial has black Arabic and baton numerals, a finely engine-turned subsidiary seconds dial and blued steel ‘feuille’ hands. Omega manually wound calibre 26,5 movement, lever escapement, 15 jewels, compensation balance, 18,000 BPH; silvered dial, black Arabic and baton numerals, engine-turned subsidiary seconds; steel circular two-piece case, moulded bezel, screw-down case back, the down-turned lugs with faceted edges; case, dial and movement signed.
