Steel Omega De Ville Ref. 166.053 vintage wristwatch, circa 1969

A stainless steel cushion-form automatic centre seconds wristwatch with day and date indication

This cushion form wristwatch has a stainless steel case made from a single block of metal, with the movement and dial inserted through the front of the watch. A robust form of case construction, by limiting the number of opening apertures to the case, the movement and dial could be more firmly protected. The dial of this watch is in lovely condition with a vertical satin finish and contrasting chamfered outer edge, whilst the unusual, rectangular, wedge-form numerals are set with black inserts. The case retains excellent definition to its angles and edges with some light scuffs and scratches from part use. Powered by an Omega 24-jewel calibre 752, the movement has provision for fast date advancement via the second setting to the crown.
