Description
Omega de Ville Ref. 111.5085 ‘Full Set’ sold in 1970
A 9ct gold tonneau-form vintage wristwatch
The De Ville Ref. 111.5085 is a great looking and unusual gold Omega dress watch. The champagne dial has a vertical satin finish and the gold numerals at the quarters are twin batons with blackened centres which contrast with the slim gold batons at the intervening hours. The watch retains its signed Omega crystal and crown and is accompanied by its original Omega presentation case, instructions and guarantee booklet which is stamped by the retailer Reid & Sons Ltd of Blackett Street, Newcastle. Also included with the watch is the receipt of sale from Reid and Sons, which notes the first sale of the watch on 25 March 1970 for £59.10.0. In very good overall condition, there are a couple of small nicks to the right-hand side of the gold case.
We have fitted the watch with a new Hirsch strap and the original gilded Omega pin buckle. The original leather strap is also present but in worn condition.
