A superb 18ct gold Omega from the mid-1940s, this charming wristwatch has a very attractive silvered dial combining raised dot and gold foil Arabic numerals. The dial retains an excellent lustre to the surface and the gold foil Arabic numerals catch the light brilliantly – there’s also a vibrant contrast between the gold leaf-shaped hands and blued steel centre seconds. Rich and warm in tone, the gold case has crisp facets to the lugs and, unusually, the inner edges of the lugs have a sharp chamfer adding subtle detailing to an otherwise truly classic design. The bezel is relatively slim which allows the dial to dominate, adding to the watch’s perceived size.
Manually wound, this watch is powered by the legendary Omega 30T2 calibre, one of the watchmaker’s most highly regarded vintage movements.
