Description
New English Interiors – Elizabeth Metcalfe
If only the interiors in this book weren’t so alluring! The tropes of modern English decoration are laid out across all of these pages . . . jute rigs, mocha ware mugs, dahlias, Staffordshire dogs, actual whippets, Edward Bulmer paint colours. The thing is . . . I’m here for all of it.
No matter how many times I have to see Luke Edward Hall and Duncan Campbell’s Cotswold cottage . . . and if you read interior magazines, you will have seen it a lot! . . . I still want to see more of it and I still think it looks great.
Alongside the aforementioned, there are the homes of Rosie de Ruig, Gavin Houghton, James Mackie and Cath Kidston; all primped to make them picture perfect (obviously in a relaxed, its-always-like-this way! Next to the glossy photographs are texts in which the owners describe the genesis of their homes and their styles.
