Highlights of the collection of European Decorative Arts held at the Museum of Fine Art in Boston. The objects within the collection vary in scale and range from a salt cellar in the form of a small crustacean to the entire wood panelling from a dining room. Written by Thomas Michie the Senior Curator of Decorative Arts and Sculpture at the museum select objects from the collection are presented in this book with individual texts on each piece and are organised both chronologically and stylistically. The earliest piece in the book is a late 7th century Irish reliquary casket, enamel decorated bronze on a yew wood base and the most recent piece is a plate glass and steel stacking chair made by Danny Lane in England.
Published by the publishing arm of the museum in 2015. Paperback and 224 pages.
