Gold Longines vintage wristwatch, hallmarked 1966

A 9ct yellow gold manually wound wristwatch with original Longines presentation case

This wristwatch has a handsome, satin finished, silvered dial with combination Arabic and baton numerals. The case is composed of a single block of 9ct yellow gold with the movement and its dial inserted through the front of the watch. The case was made for Longines by David Shackman & Sons, whose stamp appears to the inside of the case back together with that of Baume who, at the time this watch was made, were Longines’ agent in the UK. Manually wound, the movement is a Longines calibre 280.

This watch is accompanied by its original Longines presentation case.

Longines calibre 280 manually wound movement, lever escapement, 17 jewels, mono-metallic compensation balance, 18,000 A/h, Incabloc shock absorber; silvered dial, applied gold coloured Arabic and baton numerals with luminescent dots above, luminescent hands (please note that luminescence will have naturally dulled with age); polished 9ct yellow gold front loading case, stepped bezel, satin finished case back, later unsigned winding crown; dial and movement signed Longines.
