A handsome steel automatic centre seconds wristwatch with rare two-tone combination numeral dial

Longines launched the ‘Conquest’ in 1954 and, today, the model is recognised as one of the watchmaker’s most iconic vintage models. The stylish two-tone dial of this example has an unusual combination of applied Arabic and tapered, multi-faceted indexes. Unlike the majority of examples of the Ref. 9000, this version does not have luminescent accents or panels to the hands. The bold steel casing has a screw-down back, centred with a gold plaque bearing Longines’ water-resistant fish logo and heightened with green enamel. The watch is powered by the Longines calibre 19AS, one of the company’s earliest automatic movements.

Longines automatic calibre 19AS movement, lever escapement, 19 jewels, compensation balance, 18,000 BPH, Incabloc shock absorber; silvered two-tone dial, applied Arabic and multi-faceted tapered indexes, dauphine hands, applied winged Longines emblem; polished stainless steel case, screw-down satin finished case back centred by a gold plaque with Longines fish logo heightened with green enamel, Longines winding crown; case, dial, movement and crown signed.
