Longines Conquest Calendar Ref. 9007 -6 invoiced 1959 | pink gold capped automatic vintage wristwatch

This is a wonderful wristwatch from Longines’ iconic Conquest range. The watch’s dial is in outstanding condition with an excellent lustre, strong two-toning and applied pink gold multi-faceted indexes. The upper case has a pink gold capped surface – this is formed from a sheet of pink gold fused to the metal beneath and is a much more hard wearing and robust finish than standard gold plating. Turning the watch over reveals the weighty stainless steel screw-down back with its central pink gold medallion. The medallion features the Longines fish logo which is heightened with translucent green enamel. Significantly the watch is fitted with both its original pink gold caped crown and original synthetic crystal. The crystal has a circular magnification above the date aperture. There are two small internal cracks to the synthetic crystal at the edge between 12 and 1 o’clock and at the edge above 4 o’clock but as these are minor, do not significantly detract from the watch’s appearance and the crystal is original, it has not been changed during servicing.

The Longines Archives note that this Conquest watch no. 10.559.219 was originally invoiced on 22 September 1959 to Longines’ Kuwaiti agent, Behbehani.
