Longines Admiral HF Ref. 2304 -2 steel vintage wristwatch, circa 1973

A stainless steel manually wound tonneau form wristwatch with unusual hack feature and quick date change

This tonneau shaped wristwatch has a clear, linearly designed silvered dial. A great looking model, this reference was also produced in a limited edition in 1972 to commemorate the Munich Olympics. A version of the Munich Olympics model can be found in our sold archive here.

The crown has two setting functions – when pulled out to the first position the date can be manually changed either backwards or forwards. When the crown is pulled out to the second position to adjust the hands, an unusual hack feature is also engaged and the seconds hand will stop when it reaches the 12 o’clock position, the user can then push the crown back in upon a time signal or when synchronising to another timepiece and the seconds hand will start immediately – this is demonstrated in the video below.
