Still Waters & Wild Waves – Angela Harding

This book takes after a sketchbook that Harding has carrtied with her for two years. A book that she has filled with short notes and dashed off scribbles as well as drawings of birds, boats and coastal places. The sketchbook has travlled many miles from the north of Shetland to the Isles of Scilly before returning to Harding’s home and studio in Rutland where the sketches and drawings have been worked up into finished pieces.

Some of the original pages of the sketchbook are reproduced here alongside the finalised works that have grown out of them. The texts that accompany the image are descriptions by Harding of her practice and also of the places where she has travelled to and where she has sat and sketch. Alongside these are occasional photographs that she has taken on the same travels.
