Description
Lamorna Cove, c. 1912 – Laura Knight
This is the second of two cards that we have with artwork titled Lamorna Cove by Laura Knight. The other card features the area near the harbour in the cove whereas I think that this one is based on the rocks to the east of the cove where the coastline starts wending around to Mousehole.
This piece was painted in c. 1912.
Knight was born in Nottingham and studied at the art school there. She met Harold Knight there in 1900 and they married three years later. They then moved to Staithes in Yorkshire and subsequent to that to Newlyn in Cornwall.
Blank inside with an accompanying envelope.
