Karel Martens 2025 Calendar – Every Day is a New Day

Karel Martens is an influential Dutch graphic designer. Born in 1939 his specialism is typography and screenprinted design. Earlier this year his collaboration with Liberty hit the shelves of their store with a range of fabric designs that he had designed for them.

He has also designed coins, postage stamps and phone cards for the Dutch government.

As the title of this calendar states, every day is a new day . . . and as such there are 365 pages to this calendar with each page having a unique combination of colour and form to make up the digits of the day.

The pages are perforated at the top so tear off easily.

You could have it desk/table moiunted or . . . with some precise positioning of longish nails you could hang it on a wall through the two holes at the top of the calendar.

This is probably not a calendar to use to write your dentist appointments and reminder about when bin day is following a bank holiday but rather for you to take pleasure in ticking off the days of the year and enjoying Marten’s joyous sense of colour and form.
