Hand thrown stoneware large pourer – Celadon
James and Tilla set up their pottery in mid-Wales in 2002 having both spent time working with Rupert Spira in his studio in Shropshire. Their collaborative work is roughly split down the line of James being responsible for throwing the pieces and Tilla for their decoration and glazing. Having previously worked almost exclusively in porcelain, they are now producing most of their work in stoneware.
These new stoneware pieces have single colour glazes across four different colours: celadon, chun, persimmon and yellow.
They are all functional pieces but have the great feel and balance of carefully and diligently made work. The stoneware pieces that we have in stock are unglazed to the base and have the individual variations in glaze and form that mark out the beauty of handmade craftsmanship.
In 2011 James and Tilla won the Wesley-Barrell Craft Awards and in 2013 the Homes and Gardens Design Award for Ceramics and Glass.
