A handsome and large stainless steel automatic alarm wristwatch with centre seconds and date
The substantial steel case houses Jaeger-LeCoultre’s calibre 916 automatically wound movement. The rotor for the automatic winding is fitted with ball bearings and a heavy metal ring to ensure efficient and smooth winding. The alarm is manually wound and set via the crown at 2 o’clock. The 876 model is illustrated in Hampel, H., Automatic Wristwatches, Schiffer, 1994, p.170.
Jaeger-LeCoultre calibre 916 automatic movement, lever escapement, 17 jewels, glucydur balance, 28,800 BPH, precision Spirofin adjustment, Kif-Elastor shock protection; blue dial, the centre satin finished and with triangle for alarm time indication on an inner hour chapter ring with luminescent dots for the hours, matte blue chapter ring with angular Arabic numerals, outer dark blue minute track, aperture for date, luminescent hands (please note luminescence will have naturally dulled with age); substantial stainless steel case with satin finished upper, polished steel bezel, faceted screw-down back; case, dial, movement and crowns signed.
