Horse Form Knife Rests

These stylish horses are designed to be knife rests. As knife rests are . . . shall we say . . . largely redundant, you may want to just have one for its elegant sculptural form.

They have something of the style of Hagenauer, that Austrian metalworking company that produced supremely elegant pieces in metal and wood in the first half of the 20th Century. They are not by them but certainly owe their fluid design to the influence of Hagenauer.

Silver plated but without any makers mark or date inidications; I believe they probably date to the 1950s.

Some of the pieces are slightly tarnished.
