Description
Henry Moore: In Miniature
This book focuses on the intimate side of Henry Moore’s sculpture, from the earliest works, carved in wood and stone or modelled in clay and plaster, to his later bronze maquettes. It includes work never illustrated before.
The scale of these pieces remind us that sculpture is an art of the hand, made by the hand and intended to be appreciated by the hand. Through them we get closer to the artist and his methods of making, as we see individual chisel marks on the stone or fingerprints in the clay.
This catalogue is published by Pallas Athene in collaboration with the Holburne Museum in Bath to mark the exhibition. Beautifully put together it has the feel of an old-school exhibition catalogue.
