Wooden Hand

Wooden hands such as these were once made solely for the use of artists as models that they could manipulate and study for inclusion in paintings – hands being notoriously difficult to depict and these ones were more likely to stay in one position than the actual hands of a model.

They can now have a life outside of the artist’s studio. They make a great decorative piece and could also be used to store rings. The finger joints and the wrist joint are all manipulable – it has taken great powers of concentration for me to not form a one fingered salute with them!

They come in three different sizes and all have a piece of green felt on the bottom to prevent them from scratching surfaces.

Small: 13.5cm x 6cm
Medium: 18cm x 8cm
Large: 22cm x 9cm
