Pao Portable Lamp – Soft Black

Developed as part of the Pao Lamp collection for HAY by Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa, the Pao Portable lamp is a portable lamp inspired by the atmospheric glow of the dome shaped Mongolian Pao tents at night. Concealing the lighting source inside the shade, Fukasawa creates a compact everyday object that harmonises with the
environment it is placed in. The lamp’s beautiful simplicity combined with soft ambient lighting create a warm, homely glow in gardens, cafés and other outdoor and indoor spaces.

Born in Yamanashi Prefecture in 1956, Naoto Fukasawa established NAOTO FUKASAWA DESIGN in 2003. His designs are known for their ability to access and communicate the true essence of an object. Currently, he designs for a wide range of leading brands worldwide, as well as consulting and designing for local Japanese companies; He also sits on the design advisory board of Muji and is the art director of Maruni.

The lamp also comes in red, cool grey and cream white.
