Description
Pair of Braided Sea Grass Table Mats
This listing contains a set of two table mats. The mats are made from sea grass and a braided into a form that incorporates a rectangular-ish section housed in an outer section that forms the oval shape of the mat.
Seagrass grows underwater for its entire life cycle and, while it is often confused for a seaweed when it is encountered in its natural habitat, it is actually more closely related to a lily.
The rustic style of these table mats will help protect your table from the heat of anything that you bring straight from the oven to the table, and because there are two of them they should be sufficient to take most of the baking trays, casserole dishes, roasting trays that you might generate for one meal. There’s a caveat to this . . . if you’re catering for the five thousand you might need a few more!
The mats could sit on the bare wood or other surface of your table or could sit on top of a table cloth. They are rustic enough to not feel stuffily formal but equally stylish enough to be carried off on the most discerning of dining tables.
We have photographed the pair of braided sea grass table mats here alongside one of the other pieces from Garden Trading, the Broadwell carafe.
