Bone China Coffee Mug

This mug is made from bone china in Stoke on Trent. The design is by Freight who are based in Lewes, East Sussex and are committed to using UK manufacturers for their wares.

The design is influenced by one of my favourite periods of Wedgwood manufacture, the ribbed moonstone and ravenstone vases and other product lines that were made by that company (also in Stoke on Trent) in the 1960s. The handle of the mug also references earlier handle design and manages to be classical without being overly ornate . . . . more Ionic than Corinthian!

The mugs are dishwasher safe. There is also a tea mug that is in many ways just a larger version of this coffee mug.
