Description
Framed Wrestling Poster – 1950s
This poster for an evening of wrestling at the Corn Exchange in Salisbury on Saturday June 23rd in either 1951 or 1956.
This show was to star 4 wrestling matches with the main headline fight being between Bill Verna (20 stone and fresh from an oriental tour) and Emile Poilve (the massive ex-lifeguard from Bondi beach and the French adonis). The charm of this poster is the graphic design and layout, and the throwback to different forms of entertainment.
The poster is simply framed in a black wooden frame with glass. The poster is just float mounted behind the glass so, if you wanted to re-frame it or cut a specific mount you could do this.
