Description
Eterna steel vintage wristwatch, circa 1941
A steel mid-size manually wound wristwatch with two-tone black/grey dial
A fabulous looking vintage wristwatch, this mid-sized model has a wonderful two-tone dial with grey centre and black rim. All tracks, signatures and hands have a gilded finish – there is very light and even oxidation to the dial’s surface. The steel case has slim faceted lugs and a chamfered bezel.
Eterna’s history goes back to 1856 when the company was founded in Grenchen under the name “Girard & Schild”. The company has a long and rich history and most notably founded the famous ebauches maker ETA. When Ebauches SA was formed in 1932, Eterna was split into two companies: Eterna S.A. for the production of precision wristwatches and ETA S.A. for the manufacture of ebauches, as an affiliate of Ebauches SA.
