Description
Enamel Splatterware ‘Jelly Roll’ Tray – Black
In American terminology a ‘jelly roll’ pan seems to translate as a Swiss Roll tin. So . . . . you could use this tray to make Swiss rolls or roulades. Swiss rolls are traditionally made from a fatless batter – ie one that just includes eggs, flour and sugar. The tricky bit with them is judging the right length of time to back them so that the sponge is flexible enough to roll but not so cooked that it cracks when you do this.
This is probably beside the point as I think that these ‘jelly roll’ trays are best utilised as a . . . tray. Ie one that you use to carry various things (plates, cutlery, glassware etc) from one location to another. You could however use it in the oven as a roasting tin that can be taken from oven to table.
Made by Crow Canyon who have been making enamelware since 1977.
Enamel can chip if dropped to take care when handling.
