Description
Oak Picture Ledge – Short
These oak shelves or ledges are made by Creamore Mill in north Shropshire. The profile of the shelf means that you can place all manner of things on them from postcards and books to framed prints. The lip on the edge of the shelf means that you lessen the risk of things falling off (I hesitate to say it removes the risk because I’m sure we all know that giving such cast iron guarantees is not a good thing!).
The flat section of the shelf is 4.4cm deep and the length of the shelf. These shelves would look fantastic in a child’s bedroom as a storage solution for books – some children’s book covers are so great it seems a shame to place them on a shelf with just the spine facing outwards – and can be supplemented with favourite postcards. Equally in more grown up spaces they can be used for standing framed prints or pictures, making it easier to change your display of artwork without having to nail yet another picture hook into a wall.
The back of the shelf has 2 keyhole apertures so that with careful measurement you can place your 2 screws in the wall and then hang this shelf from them.
