Sophie Smallhorn: Works – Signed Copies

This monograph on the work of Sophie Smallhorn is published by Counter-Print Books.

Over the course of 200 pages there is an introduction written by Sophie herself and an essay at the end of the book by Chris Fite-Wassilak.

Chris has also written the small paragraphs of text that break down the constituent parts of Sophie’s body of work. All of her work revolves around the arrangement of form and colour. Two mainstays of her practice have been small wall mounted sculptures and also screenprints.

Outside of those two formats her colour and form sensibility has been utilised in various architectural settings. She conceived the coloured banners that wrapped the stadium for the London Olympics in 2012 and also a glazed coloured walkway between two buildings in Westminster that forms a new public space.

Every five years she also conceives and executes a body of work called 100 prints. These prints are then exhibited together in the order in which they were made. Her stipulations for the project are that each print can’t take longer than a day to make and that each print is on the same format size of paper.

Our copies of these books have a signed bookplate by Sophie. The form of this bookplate has also been conceived by Sophie.

The book has a belly band around the outside cover with the book title and other information on it. Under this belly band the front, spine and back cover have an image of one of Sophie’s sculptures.
