Description
Britannia Designs Mug
There is no side-stepping the weirdness of this mug. Britannia Designs was a subsidiary of Dartmouth Pottery and made souvenir items for the tourist trade. They produced this tankard shape with a number of different line illustrations until the company closed in 1987. This mug dates (I think) to the 1970s. The transfer printed decoration contains lots of road signage, some of which is familar to the modern driver and some of which seems to have been consigned to history . . . Be Patient, for example!
The mug has silver coloured decoration to the rim and handle. Some of this has worn around the lip but it is otherwise in good condition.
