Egg Cup by Brickett Davda

We have these egg cups by Brickett Davda in just five colours: leaf, maize, milk, oat and woad. They are all at the softer end of the spectrum of Jo Brickett Davda’s colour spectrum and I think they would all sit nicely on your breakfast table as the vestibule for your hard boiled egg.

I’ve photographed them with some ceramic broody eggs from the early 20th Century – these were eggs placed in the nest box to encourage hens to go broody and therefore sit on (hopefully) fertilised eggs until they hatched; these ceramic eggs are never going to hatch! The broody eggs are slightly smaller than a standard hen’s egg, hence why they are sitting rather low in the egg cup!

Along with the rest of the range by Brickett Davda they are handmade from earthenware in Jo’s studio in East Sussex.

You can see the whole range of products that we stock by Jo here.
