Breitling Top Time Ref. 2211 steel vintage chronograph, circa 1969
A stainless steel manually wound chronograph wristwatch with scales for pulsometer and units per hour
A bright and colourful chronograph, this model has a cushion-form case with a satin finish to the upper body. The silvered dial has unusually shaped elliptical subsidiary dials for constant seconds and 45-minute chronograph register. At the edge of the dial, scales are calibrated for pulsometer and units-per-hour. The pulsation scale is graduated for 15 pulsations, meaning that the user may start their chronograph as they feel a subject’s first pulse and stop it after the 15th pulse, the chronograph seconds hand will then show the patient’s pulse rate on the orange scale to the edge of the dial. The UPH (units-per-hour) scale can be used to calculate hourly production rates or it may be used in the same manner as a tachymeter to measure speed over a set distance.
